Coming home

The process of self-discovery does not involve external imposition of needs or desires. Rather, it involves connecting with one's innermost self and recognising what is already known. Moments of tranquility and peace, such as when basking in the warmth of the sun on a beach or taking in the stillness of a forest, can bring about a sense of stillness in the mind and serve as a reflection of one's authentic nature. This inherent sense of self was never something to be acquired, but rather has always existed and will continue to do so.

Welcome :)

The availability of counselling services is abundant, and it is imperative that you choose a counsellor who aligns with your needs and preferences. The process of seeking therapeutic support can be intimidating, but having a clear understanding of what to expect can alleviate such concerns and simplify the experience. Remember, many individuals have taken this initial step towards self-improvement, and you are not alone in this journey. The first step towards change is often the most difficult, but also the most crucial.

Every person possesses the capacity to realise their full potential. Life's challenges and difficulties can sometimes cause us to lose sight of our true selves, but it is important to remember that the answers to our struggles already reside within us. Counselling can facilitate the process of self-discovery and help you reclaim your innate qualities and individuality.

"It’s a scary thing trying to get help, but Ocean took a lot of that anxiety and fear out of the equation. I was able to get personalised counselling that best fit my needs."

FAQs

What is Person-Centered Therapy?

Person-centered therapy, also referred to as client-centered therapy, Rogerian psychotherapy, and person-centered psychotherapy, is a therapeutic approach developed by psychologist Carl Rogers in the mid-twentieth century. This form of psychotherapy emphasises the innate tendency towards growth and fulfillment in individuals, and aims to support this process through the provision of acceptance (unconditional positive regard), congruence (genuineness), and empathetic understanding.

How long will it take?

The duration of person-centered therapy varies, as it is dependent on the unique needs and experiences of each client. This approach is client-led, as the client holds the answers to their challenges and the role of the therapist is to accompany them on their journey. The goal is to facilitate the client's self-actualising tendencies, rather than dictate a specific timeline for treatment.

Will this suit me?

In the person-centered approach, you will be empowered to tap into your own inner wisdom and intuition. This therapeutic method aims to provide you with the tools and insights needed to understand what you already inherently know. Your natural instincts and inner guidance, often referred to as a "gut feeling," will serve as the foundation for your journey towards growth and fulfillment. It is important to trust and follow your instincts, and if a particular approach does not align with your needs, it is perfectly acceptable to seek alternative options.

Thank You!

  • I am reaching out to express my deepest gratitude for the invaluable skills and support you provided to my son during his journey. Without your guidance, he would not be where he is today. Your work has made a significant impact not only on his life but also on mine as a mother. We are immensely proud of him, and we cannot thank you enough.

Positive transformation in one's life is attainable with the appropriate support. Rather than being instructed on what is required, the process involves tapping into your own inner wisdom and recognising what is already known. Reclaiming one's true identity and innate qualities is a natural process, and with the right resources, meaningful change can be brought about.
